Downtown Minneapolis' Peavey Plaza is the site of the Twin Cities' best free concert series, the Land O'Lakes Alive After 5 concerts, as well as the lunchtime Tunes at Noon acoustic concert series!

For three full weeks in June, live music for your listening pleasure, delivered Live with great local and national acts!

Rock, swing, indie, pop, alt, blues, Land O'Lakes Alive After 5 is your Downtown Minneapolis live music destination!

This year we celebrate our 26th season of Alive.

Great food and beverages are also on the menu at Alive! We have family-owned, locally-based Fisherman's Wharf: grillers of burgers, brats and seafood, to ice cream greats Ben & Jerry's, as well as flat-bread pizza!

History of Alive After 5

The Minneapolis Downtown Council started the free Alive After 5 on June 6, 13, 20 and 27, 1985. Concerts ran on the four Thursday nights, from 5 to 8 p.m. The setting was simple: a beautiful urban plaza, a stage, band, sound man, and a table serving beer and soft drinks.

In 1993, Thursday August Alive concerts were added, but were never repeated.

In 1996, Alive doubled the number of concerts: the council added Tuesday nights for a total of seven concerts that year. Alive food vendors were brought in.

In 1998, concerts were added on the rest of the weekdays to make Alive a Monday through Friday series! Concerts have ended in the past at 8 or 8:30 p.m., but have ended at 9 p.m. for many years..

Visit our large Beverage Tent! Beverages include a wide variety of Sam Adam's beer, from their famous Sam Adam's Lager and Light beers, to their wonderful Summer Ale. Hard Ice Tea and Hardcore Cider are also available.

Wines include Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay and Merlot from Sutter Home. Margaritas are also available!

Soft drinks and water are available at any of our food stands.

Plenty of shade trees will help you beat the summer heat, and complimentary seating and tables for you and your friends, family and co-workers to meet you downtown, after 5!

Land O'Lakes Alive After 5 is located at Peavey Plaza, 11th Street and Nicollet Mall (Google Map.) Tunes at Noon runs from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., and Alive After 5 runs from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Land O'Lakes Alive After 5 and Tunes at Noon are presented by the Minneapolis Downtown Council and sponsored by Sam Adams, City Pages, Sutter Home, and Cities 97.
